High Tea in London

On our first full day in London, we took a walking tour of the city’s most prominent sites. We began our trip with an afternoon tea at Mason and Fortnum on Piccadilly. The Diamond Jubilee Tea Salon was lovely! The entire setup was very elegant, with tea served in fine china and soft piano music creating a serene atmosphere.

After reading over the menu a dozen times, I decided to order the High Tea with a green jasmine. Accompanying my tea was a Lobster Omelette Victoria with Lobster Bisque and a vast array of sweet tea cakes

We shared a variety of scones, topped with clotted cream, lemon curd, and strawberry preserves. Some of my favorite finger sandwiches provided were Cucumber with Mint Cream Cheese and Smoked Salmon. As we finished our tea cakes, a cake cart was brought to our table, offering rich chocolate cake, a coconut cake, and an Italian cream cake.

It was so much fun to dress up and indulge in the luxury of the tea room, and I would definitely recommend this quintessentially British experience to anyone visiting London.
